  20. Question along these lines:  for any modem that distinguishes between
  21. incoming voice/fax on the fly, would this not be required (assuming no
  22. distinctive ring)?  If not, how do other voice mail modems (the cardinal
  23. brand comes to mind) accomplish the same feat if the calling fax does
  24. not identify itself?
